More
than two months after arriving in Denton, fatigue registers on the faces
of dozens of Katrina evacuees who have heard that federal emergency assistance
would end soon. Evacuees shared stories of incomplete or confusing information
given to them by federal agencies, private insurers and landlords at the
November 17 meeting organized by MASS. The nonprofit doesn’t receive
any federal grants but has pledged to help the displaced chart their futures
in an unfamiliar state.
